As mobile electronics such as smartphones and wearable devices become increasingly integrated into our daily lives, wireless charging has been touted as a game-changing technology. However, existing technologies were limited by conditions such as distance and direction. Recently, a Korean research team developed wireless charging technology which can charge devices up to 50cm away. We take a look at this new technology which promises to free our devices from the charger within this distance.
